Booster Vaccine in Bali 68%, Vice President Convinced Tourism is Stretching
“The achievement of booster vaccination , which has reached 68%, makes Bali safe to visit. I am optimistic that Bali's economy will recover," said the Vice President when giving a press statement after visiting the MSME area on the German coast, Badung, Bali, Tuesday (10/5/2022).
The Vice President visited the MSME area accompanied by Mrs. Wury Ma'ruf Amin, Governor of Bali Wayan Koster, Head of the Secretariat of the Vice President Ahmad Erani Yustika, and Secretary General of the Ministry of Home Affairs Suhajar Diantoro.
The Vice President stated that the sloping of active cases of Covid-19 in Indonesia and the increasing achievement of booster vaccinations had a positive impact on the increase in the number of tourist visits in Bali. This increase in tourist visits also significantly affects the increase in sales of MSME products in tourist areas.
“Today, I visited the beach to see MSMEs and I saw that the economic activities of the people in Bali, especially in Kuta, have started to grow again. So, this shows that Bali has actually recovered. Therefore, foreign tourists as well as local tourists do not need to worry about coming to Bali," said the Vice President.
On that occasion, the Vice President invited the public to re-promote Bali tourism destinations, both at home and abroad to restore the Balinese economy, which largely depends on the tourism sector.
"This needs to be disseminated everywhere, throughout Indonesia and abroad, so we hope that in the not too distant future, activities will return to normal as before Covid-19 so that the people's economy will continue to thrive," he said.
Meanwhile, the coach of the German Coast Business Unit, Ni Luh Gede Sri Mediastuti, reported to the Vice President that tourism around the German coast has started to recover. However, according to him, this condition has not fully improved, so he hopes that the government can encourage tourism in Bali to rise again.
"This has started to have guests coming, our activities are already active here, but not yet maximal, only 20%," he said.
