Even though Covid-19 cases have fallen, people are asked not to forget masks

Head of the National Covid-19 Handling Task Force, Lt. Gen. Ganip Warsito, asked the public to continue to implement strict health protocols despite the trend of decreasing new cases of Covid-19. “Don’t be slack, continue to apply prokes to prevent the transmission of Covid-19. If we are careless, later the number of infected people could be many more,” said Ganip after releasing the departure of 36 ‘mask assault’ cars, together with the TNI Commander, Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto and the National Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo in Malang, Saturday (11/9).

Ganip Warsito together with the TNI Commander, Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto and the National Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo today visited Malang to review the implementation of the Covid-19 vaccination. On the sidelines of these activities, the departure of 36 ‘mask assault’ cars carrying as many as 500 thousand masks was carried out.

The masks were distributed to the Greater Malang area including Malang City, Malang Regency and Batu City. The ‘mask raid’ program, which was intended to accelerate the distribution of masks, received a positive response from local communities, youth organizations, community organizations, and religious organizations.

Ganip, who also serves as Head of the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB), emphasized the importance of implementing health protocols to prevent the transmission of Covid-19. He asked the public not to be careless after the recent decline in the number of new cases of Covid-19.

“Wearing a mask is mandatory. Do not forget. Let’s protect ourselves and others from exposure to Covid-19,” he said.

Ganip also appreciates the people of Greater Malang who have so far been disciplined and obedient in implementing PPKM so that the PPKM level in the region has dropped from level 4 to level 3.
